Sunday Mini Adventure

This morning, after the fog burned off in NE Connecitcut I took off on a little adventure on my 2000 KLR. I zoomed the GPS out to show only the major roadways...and stayed off of them as much as possible. I headed North and West to parts of Ct that I have never seen. There is alot to see here despite it being such a small state. I actually ended up in a section of the state where alot of the roads aren't even paved. Some of it was pretty wild looking, even though there were still houses around.

At one point I turned down a dirt road that had a sign that said "Solaire". As I got a little further down the road I saw a huge gate closing in front of me. I think they heard me coming and closed the gate. On the gate were the words "Solaire: Come for a visit, stay for a lifetime." Well that pretty much did it for me as I was thinking that it would make a really good movie where they lure people in and harvest their organs and that's why they "stay for a lifetime" so I got the hell out of there.

After that I was cruising down a paved road and came across a castle...yes a CASTLE. It looked fairly new. I was really cool looking, almost like something you'd see at Disneyland or something. This place was surrounded by a high "hog wire" fence and they had ALOT of property for Ct. Took me a long time to get past the high fence along the road. I had to turn around and take a pic from the driveway because I knew that words would do the job to describe this place. So I took the pic and hauled butt before I got shot at.

After all that I was on yet another dirt road and started seeing signs saying that I was in Yale Forest. I've wanted to go hiking there for a long time and almost went hunting there one year, and here I found myself in the forest purely by accident. It's a pretty good sized forest. They use it for research and what not. Anyone can go in there so it's pretty cool.

All in all it was a very nice ride. The bike ran well and got me home safe and sound and of course I got some ideas for some more upgrades while riding.

I'm sure your pics are interesting, but can't see them.

I noticed that. I don't know how to make them show up. Maybe a nice mod could fix them for me?

I don't think you can post pics from Flickr. You just have to link to them.

Looks like a fun ride.

I know this thread was from August but I just ran across it. To get your pics to be view-able your best and easiest bet is to use an image hosting site such as photobucket. You just upload the pics to them and then copy the img link that they provide into your thread and the pic will show up. I thought there might be a tutorial somewhere here to help out with this, but I can't find it.

I'd love to see the pics as well

Good call, I've never used the VB image host but it looks pretty simple.
