Talking Planning 2013 UP Michigan ride (on-road)

Hi guys! I'm planning a 3 day ride around the Porcupine Mountains with my Dad this summer. I'm looking for route suggestions, places to go etc.... We will be leaving Hale, MI Thursday morning, ride to Munising and camp (sightsee at pictured rocks, and a loop through the Porkies and maybe Copper Harbor Friday. Camp maybe in Marquette, take a slow route back to Hale on Saturday. My Dad rides a 80 Suzuki GS750 and I of course ride an 09 KLR650. Does anyone have any suggestions or interest in riding with us? This is a trip we have been wanting to do for a long time and decided we need to do it while my Dad still can. We are thinking mid July/ early August. Thanks in advance for any suggestions

A guy named Cannonshot does motorcycle tours in that area - try cannonshot dot net and look for some of his reports. 3 days is barely enough to get a taste of Keeweenaw Peninsula - beautiful riding up there. 26 along the coast, Brockway Mtn Drive, Hwy 41 from the north end, Lac Labelle road, are all great.

Talking Cannonshot

Checked out cannonshots website. Looks like fun although fairly extreme off-road, I may have failed to mention my Dad will be riding a 1980 Suzuki GS750. It is not exactly an adventure bike, we will be sticking to the pavement for this ride. But now I'm wondering about a KLR only trip up there at another time.

Hey, I'm looking for riders to ride with in Michigan, my name is Tom and I'm starting a new group on Face Book called KLR 650 Riders Of Michigan.

I'd appreciate if you'd joined in, and spread the news to any adventure bike riders you know. It is my hope to create a network of riders through the use of Face Book. That way when someone wants to ride or set up an event we can get in touch with each other here in Michigan.

Thanks
