Took quick trip to Garden of the Gods

We heard we had a wicked storm coming following day and it was 60* NOW WITH HEAVY cloud cover ..So if we were to ride this weekend Friday was it .

I had been working on my Wifes xt350 all week getting it road ready ,ithad no working lights and no turn signals so i made my own using a old heavy duty 2 pole toggle switch ,a car 2 pole flasher and homemade bracket to mirror and now working turn signals !

did a full service, oil was worst ive ever seen in a running motor !!

My wife has always run with me on the back f every bike ive owned last 17 years .this last few years she mentioned she like to try it on her own ..

I bought the 85 xt350 real cheap ,had 7k miles on it and all lights stripped including a cats nest for wiring (why it was cheap) but ran well. Had some idle issues but i knew carb needed cleaning ..once i did it purrs like a kitten .

Didint like the stoock bars so i went with some quality thick high bars .

It has a 4.5 gallon Clarke tank and upgraded rear shock .. I hadsomething to work with .

I was so excited to finally get april out on her own 2 wheels i didnt sleep much night before..

But We all met at my place and we took back roads all the way to 24 and head out to Garden of the Gods . April was smiling ear to ear and could see riding was coming back to her.

She Had taken the safety course god 6 or 7 yrs ago and been licensed but never went on her own till now ..too many deployments and feild time to get a chance to enjoy some time down..

my wife April

our little miss matched crew Wife and i on dirt bikes and my dear friend neil on a 750 Katana , He had just crashed few weeks earlier and i just finished rebuilding it this week .. He is all smiles again ..

Hard to get a bad picture in this tiny park .

My wife is really enjoying this ..

My buddy is stoked to be back in the saddle ..

We finished off with Awsome cold beer and dinner followed by homemade fudge and wndeful ride home ..
