Very nice. I go to the Smoky's twice a year to ride some of the most scenic and awe inspiring roads in the country. Next year I'll take one of those trips and dedicate it to some DS. Or maybe I'll just go three times.

Townsend is a great base for DS riding in the area and not as busy as Gatlinburg and Pigeon forge. There is also a bike rental business there. A couple of the guys on this ride rented DR 650's there.

Awesome! I go once a year myself... My parents live near maggie valley. We go off-roading near the blue ridge parkway. Just be careful not to stumble on indian territory. I went a few miles to far in their lands and a cop finally told me to turn around.
