Opened a can of whoop ass on several dirt bike riders!

Had an interesting ride at the off road park today. I was heading toward the awesome 8a trail and had 5 dirt bikers and 1 sport quad turn ahead of me heading for the same trail. I tucked in behind and instantly figured out I need to move ahead because this group was going way too slow causing me to dab non stop. It's a quad width trail so not many options for passing, but I found spots here and there, gave a honk and went past one by one till I had 3 of them down. Finally we hit a spot where it was mud city and I was the only one who knew about the clean path around to the right. I hurried around while they were pondering. One of the guys caught back up to me when I had to hit the brakes for a huge tree with branches covering the entire trail. He worked his way right and I followed. He was trying to pick up the pace, but I was on his ass the whole time because he kept having issues in the oddest of places. During that time some of the others finally caught up, but I managed to gun it past the guy in front of me and took off. When that loop was done I had to wait about 5 minutes before the first group showed up and another 5 for the second group.

The opening of this 5600 acre Interlake park 35 minutes from me has renewed my enjoyment of the KLR by 1000%!!! Then, to be able to do some whoopin on some dirt bikers with a 400lb KLR makes it even more awesome. A year ago, I would have been having all kinds of issues on a trail like this 8a. Probably would have laid it down quite a few times also. Now, I am doing all kinds of stuff that KLR's really shouldn't logically be doing. It's madness... utter madness... and so much frickin fun!!!

Sounds like you had a blast! This thread needs pics though! Don't ya just love it when the hardcore dirt riders just look at you in astonishment and ask, "how the hell did you get that pig up [email protected]@!!" LOL

If I could take pics and ride at the same time, I'd be a pro...LOL!! Not really much to see static picture wise, just your regular crazy dirt bike trails.

However, I have a friend of a friend that has a VIO helmet cam and he is going to let me test it out to see if I want to invest in one. I'll definitely be posting some videos of this place to entice some people to come to TDI.

FYI... I, by no means, intended to sound like I'm a badass on this KLR though. I don't know what experience level of the dirt bikers were or anything. Clearly any dirt bike would normally leave me sitting in a cloud of roost!
