Nothing higher than six inches above the ground from horizon to horizon for hundreds of miles.
On 'Davenport Downs', western Queensland October 2012.

A "cattle station" is what folks in North America would call a "ranch".

This is in western Queensland, Australia :



The photo was taken somewhere near the middle of this map on the Diamantina River Road. The map is 26 miles north/south and twenty miles east/west or about 500 or so square miles....



I was so impressed with the grandeur of the remoteness and flatness and loneliness and unending sameness that I felt moved to take photos from each direction north, south east and west:
