Round trip to Penonomé.
On Saturday, I made a 210-mile journey, traveling 74 miles on back roads and trails in the central mountain range. The rest on the highway. In addition to the KLR, a BMW GS800 participated. The greatest difficulty was the crossing of a river. We saw legendary trees and mango trees in season. We went from the cold of the mountain, to the oppressive heat of the plains of the coast of the Pacific Ocean. The destination the city of Penonomé, from Panamá city. We have breakfast and lunch on the route. Many asphalt curves and moderate trails.
Lots of folks don't realize the variety of terrain existing in Panama; many think only of . . . RAIN FORESTS! And, of course, a CANAL!
Much mountainous terrain exists there also.
And . . . I love those TROPICAL cattle! Bred to stand the climate and other environmental factors.
I could use a ceviche right now, served at a casino restaurant! Marvelous land, people, and FOOD! :)
