These pictures are of one day on a week long trip. Mostly taken on the Columbia and Western Trail which is a former rail bed. We rode the section between Castlegar and Grand Forks.
There is a lot of confusion about whether motorized vehicles are permitted. You could clearly see that quads had used the trail. Signage didn't particularly single out motorized use. I think if you use respect for other users there wouldn't be a problem. We encountered cyclists and hikers none of which hassled us about being on the trail. As a matter of fact the hikers I talked to were an elderly couple and the gentleman was born at a rail village that was located along the tracks back in the 30's. It was very interesting what he shared.
We thought that we would do this trail now rather than later because we feared that maybe eventually motorized use would be unlawful. It was a great ride with fantastic views, trestles and tunnels.

"It's a friggen motorcycle, it's not supposed to be comfortable, quiet or safe. The wind noise is supposed to hurt your ears, the seat should be hard and riding it should make you shit your pants every now and then. "
