Recent ride to Cades Cove / Parson's Branch

I ride with a group of guys from East Tennessee Riders. Here is a recent day trip that we took through the Great Smokey Mountains National Park - Cades Cove, Parson's Branch to US HWY 129 - Tail of the Dragon. We also rode into North Carolina and played around near Fontana Dam. It was a great day to be out and about.

Here is the ride report - I am riding the only KLR in the bunch.

If you don't mind me asking, are your tires IRC's or Kenda 270's and how do you like them? I'm not trying to hijack or start a tire thread, I'm just curious. I got Gripsters on right now but am thinking of replacing them with something a little more dirt oriented in the spring. Thanks in advance!

Cheers,
Stew

Those tires are Kenda's they were on the bike when I got it. The tires were pretty new and they have worn quite well. The previous owner told me that he could get over 6000 miles out of them. I ride the road a lot and they grip extremely well even when it is wet. I've put right at 5000 miles on the bike this year and the tires have held up well. They are noisy though as they roar on the pavement.

I'm sure that I will replace them with the same tire when the time comes.

Man that's beautiful country. We go there every year. Vacation time just can't get here quick enough now.

Send me a PM when you start this way - we can get together for a ride or I can offer a space in my yard to you if you like - nothing fancy but we like it.

It is beautiful here - I've lived here all of my life and I STILL don't take it for granted - love the area for sure....
