Tech question

I need to add some preload to my rear shock.
Unfortunately I don't have a lift. Is there anyone
in the Colorado Springs area who could help me
with this? Thanks

You don't need no stinkin' lift to adjust your pre-load.

Just get off your bike and turn the adjuster. [EDIT; KLR250 has lock nut on preload adjusting nut; KLR650 does not.]

Better off the lift; that way you can get on and off during the process to measure the sag.

Lock nut

My owner manual doesn't mention a lock nut. Do you have a photo of this in relation to the adjuster or have I just not applied enough force to overcome the spring.

Shock adjustment

OK I think I have enough info. I just haven't put enough torque to overcome the spring.

Sorry, WRONG BIKE!

My KLR250 has a lock-nut; the KLR650 don't have no stinkin' lock nut!

My error; I think you're on the right track; put enough torque on the adjuster and it should turn.
