Sunday August 12th Ride to somewhere

Good Evening All Wise and Nimble KLRers,

I again find myself free this Sunday. I don't enjoy a day without some sort of activity. Last weekend was with the Wife and we had a blast. Now I would like to take another ride somewhere, somewhere far.

I will be going somewhere on Sunday, leaving from Java Beach at 8:00am. If you have any suggestions and would like to join, I would enjoy the pleasant company. Cabrito? KMBsar?

I have not had much practice on dirt or gravel roads. Does anyone know of a location that is simple but beautiful. A location that you can have a great ride to and from?

Life is a ride that should be thouroughly enjoyed. ATGATT!

Hmm....
I have a thing to go to in Napa Sunday Afternoon that starts anytime after 2pm. It's a friends going away party. I've been entertaining the thought of doing this big Ride ADV/Dual Sport Ride and then going to Napa.

I could be convinced to do this if you wanted to give it a shot. Here is some more info about it. (I've done it once)
ADV/DS ride Lake Berryessa/Knoxville OHV/Rayhouse Rd.
http://bayarearidersforum.com/forums...48&postcount=1

Informal ride to Lake Berryesa and access to the 17,700 acre Knoxville OHV area. Convenient meetup point is less than 1 hour from San Francisco or Sacramento.

Fear not! This is not hard-core dirt bike riding and knobbies are not required to ride this jeep trail. So it is okay if you do not have a dual-sport or ADV bike. All are welcome but you should feel comfortable riding your bike in the dirt (or wet pavement). Link to riding tips.

For the truly adventurous looking for a challenge: We've seen this terrain handled comfortably on H-D Sportsters, a V-strom with Passenger, a Ural with side car, a FZ6, vintage Triumph Bonnevilles, and sports bikes (See Sjaak Lucassen on an R1: )

Well, looks like a slight issue with Sakeboy66's rear brakes needs to be looked at and I couldn't quite fit this ride in anyways since I had all the in-law's staying over the weekend.

let me know if you get your rear brakes sorted out.
