Joe do you have a welder? I have a centerstand lever that needs to be welded on the centerstand. I also need a person that can weld.

I am new to this forum and relatively new to KLR's. I was wondering if I oculd come..? And if I could, what should I bring...? I have all the tools for a KLR. I blew fork seal, need a valve adjust, and a new counter-sprocket install.... can I ride my KLR there or should I drive it in the pick up...?? Any info would be helpful thanks...

Matt you are more than welcome to come. Tech Days are not limited to certain persons.

Larryboy and I will be flying through Vacaville and you are welcome to join us if our travel times are coordinated. I am not sure what time we will be riding through Vacaville but if you are interested we will let you know.

If your KLR is rideable it would be best to ride it. That would save Joe from calling you a Nancyboy when you arrived in a cage hauling a perfectly good KLR. Just joking. You will find all of the KLR riders to be a great group of persons and very helpful. You might find them harassing each other but that comes under the category of "Men will be Men". I'll pass on the 'seal' joke. The elder techs, the KLR brains of each Tech Day, will watch over you and all the other riders to make sure the projects are completed properly.

You have a good list of projects. I suggest you arrive and get to work early. After the introductions choose the place you will be working and start with replacing the fork seal. The valve adjustment requires the engine to be cool. This might be the day to change your oil adn filter. This will help cool the engine quicker.

Has the Balancer Lever (Doohickey) been replaced? A Tech Day is a good place to complete the replacement since you won't have to purchase or borrow the tools and you will be around riders that have already completed this task.

Tools! That is up to you but you will be responsible for your own tools. I usually bring my own mainly becuase I travel with them. Joe has many tools but they are being shared so you might have to wait. This is usually not a problem.

Hope you decide to come. The Petaluma Tech Day attracts a good group of KLR riders. It is worth the trip to see the other KLR's and their upgrades.
