Sequoia-Kings Canyon Tech/Riding Weekend

Hi all,
How about a Tech Day/Riding Weekend here at the resort where I work? I was thinking May 19, 2007. The roads up here will be almost totally free of snow then, and the trails in the nearby lower elevation foothills will not be too blistering hot yet. We have a nice indoor shop, plenty of tools, unbelievable food, a fully stocked bar, a place to watch tv/videos, and the rates are still very low for spring. It's pretty cheap to stay here especially if you are willing to share a cabin, or a room with a couple of other KLRrs. It's pretty easy to get here (4.5 hours) from down south, or the Bay Area.

Wrenching could take place all weekend (even through the night), rides scheduled whenever. Here is the resort URL: www.mslodge.com Check it out. What do you guys think? I'm the General Manager, so I might be able to get even better rates if we get enough interest. Let's do this!

I am very interested. I would need to know how many days you are planning, and a price for staying.

Hey Tazman,

I'm not sure how the forum admins feel about me posting rates here, so I'll hold off till they let me know. It's pretty damn affordable, and I'll work with the reservation office to get it even better for everyone. Oh yeh, all of our rates include all meals.

I was thinking that most riders would want to arrive Friday afternoon/evening (May 18th). We could start wrenching/BSing that evening. Maybe do some rides during Saturday while others continue wrenching. Dinner, BSing, wrenching Saturday Night. Sunday we could do a ride in the foothills so everyone would be closer to the main highways for the trips home. If folks cannot make Friday night, then they would not miss the wrenching as we would have a session Saturday night.

How does that itinerary sound. It's all in my head now, so suggest away!

I want to come, but that's the same weekend as the Sheetiron 300. Can we pick another weekend?

Hey Larryboy,

That ride looks like loads of fun, but I picked that weekend because it's the last weekend here at the resort that I can offer cheap rates. The next weekend is Memorial Day, so the owners have told me to start summer rates then. Sorry larryboy, but that's really the only time this spring I can do the weekend up here. I hope you can make it!

OK, I finally have the final dates, and rates for the weekend. www.astro-obsessions.com/klr_tech_weekend.html

This will be a blast. I hope all of you can make it. Now, let's talk about what kind of rides you want, what tools you need, what kind of work you want to get done, etc.

Hey tazman,

are you still thinking about coming up for the weekend? I am scouting out some good trails and roads for the group rides. Plenty of space for the tech stuff, and a beautiful place to ride.

Hope you can make it. Anybody else?

Roll Call

Who is going to the Sequoia-Kings Canyon Adventure Days? This should be one we will always remember.

I am on the plus side of a possibility.
