most likely it's my ex girlfriend that lives in wellsboro

it is a beautiful area, the riding is outstanding. My hope is it rains good the week before so the riding can be a bit fun in places

Hey Gunny! So what's up with the "fest"? I saw what happened over ADV(Don't let snotty people bother you!) He's the kind of guy who waxes his bike! (wax this MF'er) But really we all are looking foreward to the event! I hope you keep the name to KLR Fest (that will keep the snotty people away!) So far I'm happy with all the things you have said about it! I live on the other side of the state but if I can be of some assistance, let me know!
I personally am going to focus on road and firecuts on the trip. Not too worried about trails unless it brings me somewhere really cool! I just look foreward to meeting other KLR people and having a good time!
(P.S) Why isn't this on .net? I'm Pennsylvania Pat over there!

Thanks!

thanks, you get that kind of reaction from some of "those" guys that ride other bikes and feel left out because they don't want to get dirty, or maybe they feel slighted in some way because they spent $15k on a bike and somehow feel superior to the guys that only spend $5k and have a much better time.

I haven't posted this on all the forums yet. I mainly deal with klrworld, so it does take some time to get all the info out. I'm trying to iron out all the details with the park service before I really post all the info. Apparently they have some rule about large groups. So .... we may have to all just "accidentally " meet there at the same camp site

the name of the event is subject to change, but not really to accomodate the other bikes, just something a bit more fun. Sort of like the name of the even they had in Colorado a few months back called the "four mile freak out" Hopefully becomeing an annual event.

KLR Fest

Gunny, I picked up your blurb on AVD as well.......... some of those "other guys" need some cheese with their WINE.

Sounds like you will have a good time in Pensylvania (did I spell that right?) any way, it looks like a few us (KLR's) are going to get together in North Western Ontario in June. A little closer to home.

I retire in 2009 so I will be up for KLR fest...more time on my hands.

Gunny, If you get a chance check out a place called Campers Paradise in Sigel, PA (I don't know how to download it to this thread!) But the place seems real nice. Not too far from the Allegheny National Forest. It's on the south end of the park (kinda far from the offroad trails) but many good points to the place!! They even do a Jeep Festival there in July. Let me know what you think!!!!

Thanks'

Wow I can't beleive you guys are so sensitive. I'm sorry Gunny got his feelings hurt because I told him to put his Rally in the corect forum . Seriously nothin was meant by it . We tend to talk to each other in a rather caustic way but it's a joke.We all say fyyff all the time but it din't mean fu,and giving each other the bird is done in fun . We don't care one bit what bike you ride ,there are as many non bmw riders as there are bmer riders.
No i DON'T WAX MY BIKE AND i DON'T HAVE TO SNEAK TO ANOTHER SITE TO TALK BEHIND SOMEONE'S BACK EITHER ."Wax this "wow how powerful, easy to say when the person it's directed at ,you think isn't listening.Grow up man.

I've been insulted worse, by better people.

I stopped posting in that particular thread at ADV because that was the thing to do. You had just come across as one of those elitist types we all dread hearing from or dealing with. I'm a big enough man to know when I was wrong, and that thread was the wrong place to start it {after your direction}. It is however in the KLR thread now. My intention was for everyone to see it for maximum exposure, if that ruffled the feathers of the elite event organizers who may have a bit of competition, oh well, I could give a rats tail what they think. It's about the riders, not the egotistical people that think their event is somehow better than another.

Now ..... if your interested in the event rick, fine, I'd be more than glad to ride with you, I'm sure we wouldn't hold the Beemer against you , we ride what we ride, it's that simple.

Now .... to get back on topic ....

I've gotten a ton of info from a couple of sources down in that area. I've almost settled on a specific region of the park. I want to keep the event in the park because cost wise, it will be the best deal for the camper. Much cheaper than staying at a campground outside the park. Though I don't recommend it, hooligan camping could be done by those who so choose.

This is as much an organized event as it is an unorganized one. Depending on what the turnout is, will dictate further events in the future. It may not get as many people as some of the events held or advertised at other forums, but would still be as good, if not better than some or most, largely by the people that attend.

R1100 Rick, This reminds me of a big fat kid that I went to grade school with. Now, (I guess this was about 1976) this kid was always starting trouble. He would walk around the school and pick fights and bully people around simply to get attention (of course nobody liked him and he didn't have any friends) Now this went on for a few years. I remember anyone he saw having fun he would come over and disturb whatever we were doing. And I really couldn't stand this kid. A few more years went by and as we started to grow taller and stronger I noticed that he wasn't getting involved in our daily lives anymore. So by the time we got into high school I really didn't see him much. One day after school he was crossing the road to catch the bus and got hit and killed by a car. And from that day on he was known by "that fat kid who got killed by a car in front of school". Nothing else.
Moral to the story: Shut up before you turn fat and get hit by a car and nobody remembers your name.

Not tryin to pick a fight just don't like being insulted . I had recently purchased a smaller yamaha ds and thought about coming to the event but since the hostility meter seems rather high I'll have to reconsider.
Gunny good luck with this.I want to reassure you there is no problem over at adv .I organize events in both annual and upcoming events and sometimes in regional . It's just an organizational thing.

Hope ya'll have fun .Rick (fat duck lookin out for busses)
