Montana klr riders???

I live in Three Forks MT but was born and raised in Trego MT up in the NW corner in Lincoln County. I have the entire month of June 2014 that I can schedule some rides in if anyone is interested. I will basically have 4 day weekends all June. Fri thru Mon. I Have been riding KLR's since 1989 and dual sports since 1979. I have been pretty much everywhere in the NW , W , and SW Montana. Mostly alone...lmao. Would be great to have some riding buddies! Or even show some out of state riders some cool places to go and see. Ty

Guess we're all hidden all over the state. You could put my name in place of your's with the same statistics/locations. I don't get quite that far east (usually), but then there are plenty of roads in the W, SW, N of Montana and I've logged a bunch and plan to log more.

Bitterroot's home now, but I've wandered at one time or another through most corners of the state and now working on Idaho too. On 2 wheels for 45 years, but only the last 3-4 have included longish DS runs. My riding week is typically limited to 7 days per week (pending honey-dos, of course).

Hi , Love the Bitterroot. Very nice area. I also like the Big Hole a lot. (Bloody Dick and Miner Lakes areas mainly.) I go there at least twice a year camping , fishing and hunting. I have not ridden much around the Hamilton or Darby areas. Sure do like those sawtooth peaks down that way tho!

Being from Trego, did you know the Whites from Stryker, Tom and Helen?

Yes , The White family were very good friends of ours for as long as I can remember. From trapping to rock hounding. Tom actually helped me with a school project I did about trapping in the 8th grade long ago. He brought all his traps to Trego School and gave a presentation on them. I was so grateful. They were awesome people. I know Tom Jr. too.

We used to (70's) go up Sunday Ck and camp/fish on the original "homestead". Always enjoyed that. My wife's Uncle's wife is a related to the Whites. My wife's cousins still go up and work/camp on the site - need to go up there and check it out again some day. Been too long.

I'll be riding through western Montana on my way from Calgary to Oklahoma in about two weeks (but then again, everyone has a plan until they get punched in the nose. But that's the plan...)

Will be visiting your state again from Alberta with my bro in July..this will be our third trip down. Last year we did the Beartooth pass. We like Montana cause the fuel is cheaper as well as lodging and your hospitality. Any cool places that you can recommend for us to see would be appreciated.

Beartooth pass is awesome! Love it up there. Glacier Park is a must see too if you have not been there. Going to the sun road rocks! If you are in SW MT there are many places to see here too. Hyalite Recreation area and Fairy Lake rec area are both by Bozeman and are wonderful to camp at. The Lewis and Clark Caverns are Close to Three Forks right down the road from Bozeman and there is campiong there too. Also by THree Forks is the Headwaters state park where the Jefferson, Madison and Gallatin Rivers meet to form the Missouri river. Lots of Lewis and Clark history here too. The Gallatin Canyon up to Big Sky form Bozeman is awesome too and will eventually lead to West Yellowstone. Virgina City is always a fun place to go in the summer. Kind of touristy but fun.The Wise River scenic byway and the Big Hole are both amazing places in the far SW corner by Dillon , Jackson and Wisdom. Awesome fishing and camping. There is a Hot Springs lodge at Jackson and another just past Polaris. I like Jackson better myself but both are great. Lodging at both also. The Wise River scenic byway is terrific. Crystal park is on that road too where people search for quartz crystals and such. I could write a book on this subject so I will just leave it at this for now. lmao. I do not know if I will be around in July but if you do come down to the Bozeman area shoot me a message. Would be fun to show you around some.
