Are you 100% sure it isnt the drain plug?

Clean the beans out of it, leave the skid plate off and make sure you know where the leak is coming from

If it is not the drain plug and really is the cases and its really only a 6 months old how about you just upgrade to another bike, that way you aren't waiting forever for them to fix it and potentially do a bad job, they get the warranty work and two more sales. Obviously the price is the big deal there. But I think I saw a guy on here out the door for close to $4k. Maybe $500 out of pocket for you? Swap your farkles.

I meant “upgrade” to a new KLR that doesn’t leak from the cases. There is a good chance that all they will do is take it all apart, put fresh gasket sealer on the case halves and bolt it all back together.

You do have some leverage, the dealer will make some money on fixing it, tell them you don’t trust it tell them you want another bike instead. I’ve owned klr’s for 15 years and I’ve never heard of the case halves leaking.

Yea there's a little weep hole it can leak water or oil this is very good news as its a minor repair that even a luddite like me can do, makes sure they dont reuse your coolant or oil insist on fresh and pay for a new filter if you have to. My coolant looked like Indian ink at 5000 miles, I think it was mostly paint overspray but still. Also a good time to get the clutch springs upgraded.
