Has anyone upgraded to a Lectron carburetor, I've read it generates 10% HP increase and makes the bike run alot smoother. I have a 2012 crate bike with only 600 miles, but am an experienced rider, 35 + years.

Never tried a Lectron on a 4 stroke but I did install one on a 2015 KTM 300 xcw. I tried to like it and get it dialed in but never got it right. Went back to the keihin carb and realized the Lectron was a gimmick. Lectron gave me the run around and told me I needed to purchase multiple new needles and none of them helped so I sold the Lectron and moved on. Lesson learned the hard way...
A stock & standard KLR650 with its Keihin carb can be run from Death Valley CA to the top of Pikes Peak in CO.
That what, -283ft to 14,100+ft. What more can one ask of carb that can operate acceptably between those two extremes?
One might find that the Lectron (once dialed in) works better than the OEM Keihin carb within a mere 4000ft zone?
As one who has tried another carb on a KLR, don't waste your time or money. Clean/rebuild your stock carb and you'll be happy, still have money in pocket, and not have any additional headaches with tuning the new one.
