well its a cuzzin of a ktm....every ktm I've owned has never been lacking in excitement....

 

I still like how simple the KLR is. Just wish it had 1 more gear.

It's fun when it runs. My buddy has one and I've ridden it. Most of the time it starts on 1 cylinder and stalls. It takes several attempts to get it to start on both cylinders. It's an ongoing issue ktm has been unable to correct. Lots of used 890s for sale cheap now. Beware

They're fine bikes if you don't mind the occasional electrical issues from what I understand

 

Nah. That's why I like the KLR . Simple, reliable, I get to shift with my 🦶 and it reminds me of my Xr400 days 25 years ago.

 

Have to imagine that the power, suspension overall refinement could be intoxicating. Hate to have to pick it up. Personally I know if I test rode other newer bikes I'd be tempted. Fortunately for my KLR is that I'm retired so my discretionary spending formula is if I own it, keep it till it doesn't work anymore

 

There's only two ADV bikes I would consider cheating on the KLR with... The Yamaha T7 or the Africa Twin

 

What is it like? big, fast, powerful.......just don't drop it and if you do, prepare to pay... 105hp.....lots of electronic doodads and gizmos. It would be a fun bike to ride in many conditions and at 471 lbs wet, it's light enough for what it is - that said, I'm not going to be getting one to replace my KLR's on single track; just too big and heavy and 105hp is overkill in the extreme in those conditions.....on the highway though....
