2.7gal is considered an oversize fuel tank? 😂
Guess every additional drop counts…

The factory 2 gallon tank is abysmal! 100 miles of range. Otherwise for an old guy no other complaints on this bike
Out of curiosity, why the KLX and not the DRZ?

I had the opportunity to ride a new DRZ on one of my riding trips, and thought it was an awesome bike. VERY fun to ride, & power was surprisingly decent on a stock engine. I think it outperforms the KLX in every way…minus the fuel injection of course.

Fuel injection, availability and Having a dealer within 350 miles of me were the biggest factors

I appreciate all responses here, thank you. I carry extra fuel on longer rides.
However, the point of this post is:

Kawasaki advertises a two gallon tank with a point .6 gallon reserve of which very little is useable.

Is anyone out there riding a fuel injected KLX300 or a KLX shop technician that has a similar experience?
Yes, I've emailed acerbis, Clark, and ims. To only hear there is no interest from them in making an aftermarket tank. I also am lucky to get 110 miles from a tank. It's sad to say but am considering selling the bike as fuel range is a major problem. I expected more aftermarket support, unfortunately there is not as much as I had hoped.

ADVOntario - I have a 2023 KLX 300 and always ride with a 1 gallon rotopak on the back, but have not used it yet. The Low Fuel light goes on anywhere from 90 - 110 miles depending on the ride. Have never put in more than 1.6 gallons though. Next time, I will try to ride until I run out of fuel to see just how far I can go. Typically, my mpg is 65-75 mpg. Don't want to spend the money on a 2.7 gall tank. Would rather carry a second rotopak or buy a 2 gallon one. With the exception of the dinky fuel tank, I love the bike. :) Paul
