Does anybody have recommendations for handguards on the 2022 klr ? Stock bars 7/8". I wanted to get the tusk d flex pro but rocky mountain is out of everything 7/8" with no known date of when back in stock. I have Oxford heated grips installed already if that changes people's recommendations.

They were really easy. The hardest part was removing the bar ends that were put on with red loctite. Make sure your using a good Allen wrench because you have to put some effort into it.
The old grips cut and peeled easy and I used clear coat spray paint instead of grip glue to make removal easier.

It's plug and play and it hooks directly to the battery. I was going to use the factory plug for heated grips and put in a relay but the Oxfords will turn off if there is no other draw on the battery from your key being on. They also shut off if your battery goes below 11.9v I believe.
I was doubtful of them actually doing that but I tried the key off trick and they shut down a few min later. I
Didn't mount the controller on the supplied handlebar perch. Instead I used double stick and mounted on left hand lower dash panel.
They work awesome total time to install was 45min

Hello Chiro58

I have Barkbusters with the Storm Guards on my bike. I also have Oxford Grip Heaters installed. I have absolutely no complaints about the Barkbusters, or the grips.

Oxford makes different styles of grip. They are not all the same length. I installed the Adventure style. I think, though I am not sure, that the Adventure grips are the longest of the three.

The grips were easy to install. Follow the instructions and you will have no problems. The original throttle grip is made of thin rubber so it tears easily. This makes it a bit hard to remove.

The Barkbusters were already installed when I put on the heated grips. I found that the right hand grip was a bit too long and rubbed on the aluminum Barkbuster frame. It rubbed enough to stop the throttle grip from returning to its at rest position. Fortunately, Oxford grips are designed to be trimmable. I had to trim about three millimetres from the end to allow unhindered movement of the grip.

Three millimetres is about the width of the flange on the end of the grip. I actually trimmed about ten millimetres from the end of the grip. I then trimmed the flange from the ten millimetre off cut. Then, I super glued the flange onto the end of the grip. Of course there is no need to glue the flange back onto the grip, it just makes the grip look like it has not been trimmed.

Oxford heated grips was piece of cake to install. I also installed bark busters with the bar end weights. They look sooooo much nicer than factory plastics. Also ditched the factory mirrors for the ram double take mirrors. Would recommend all of the above products.
