I’ve just finished reading this. There is some very good info in here from novice to advanced, I really enjoyed it and learned a few things.

Be the first to reply and I‘ll send it out to you (if you’re in the states). All I ask is that when you are finished to put your name, location, and date on the inside cover. Post it up here in the forum as I have done and pass it along. Let’s see how far it can go!

I like the way you think, brother. If you pass it my way, I'll pass it on. Never can have enough books to read.

JESUS MAN! CALM DOWN! Just kidding. :)

I'll hit you up after I finish it. Flash, your plan is working amigo. I wonder how far the book will travel. Cool idea. Reminds me of the bed and breakfast Karen and I stayed in that had a "visitor's journal" beside the bed. Yep, wish I hadn't read it. But this should be cool. :28:

That's interesting. Along with putting your name, location, and date on the inside cover how about we keep a "mileage" column also with a running total? So LJ would be the first entry...roughly 1,730 mi. my zip to his according to Microslop Streets and Trips.

Word. Considering the ahhh....thriftiness....of most KLR riders, I bet a LOT of people will be happy to read the book without shelling out the cash. :)

Hey Flash, before you send, why don't you add a sentence, too. Like what you thought of the book, or a random thought. Like:

Name
KLR Handle
Location/mileage
"My name is Flash and I am quick as a mother." (or something to that effect)

Wow, Mrs. Flash and I went to the post office Monday morning and mailed it ($2.77 snail mail BTW) cheap enough! Can't believe you got it today. Sorry, no pithy comments on the flap but feel free before you send it along to the next inmate.

I did like the Foreword / Introduction by Malcolm Smith. If he thinks highly of this then that's good enough for me !!! Good read, I took something away from it as will you. Enjoy.

* Hey, I just noticed someone made this thread a sticky. Thanks.

I have no idea what a "stickey" is. That aside, I have always, ALWAYS, been amazed by the USPS. And UPS, FedEX, etc. I have actually gotten in arguments with people in the post office who were bitching because their materials were going to be transported for less than a cheeseburger. I'm pretty sure it's voodoo, but I got nothing but respect for the "pony express".

Just remembered, I bought a number of beers for a carrier several years ago in appreciation. A very interesting and fruitful conversation. So, I say, it's thanksgiving, get your carrier drunk. It's what Jefferson would have wanted.

sbrogdon is next, but you just put yourself in line bud. AND, I'm almost done with it. I've been lagging and alternating Philip Marlowe and damn if Raymond Chandler can't keep you going. But the book is great, you'll dig it.

And they feature my boots as the perfect boot for the "street oriented" dual sport rider. Woot woot (NewEnough closeout of course, Paper) :11a:

put me on the list cool idea flash.:character00271:

I am a lagger.

I could give a bunch of excuses for why it took me so long to finish this book (I'm a freaking reading specialist for god's sake). Like I said, blame Raymond Chandler and the Kindle. :11a: :ashamed0001: :11a:

Flash, super book man. Thanks a million. sbrogdon, you're up brother. PM your address and it will be on it's way.

Just read back through the posts. I'll put up a pic of Mrs Lockjaw with the book, Mark. No one wants to see my ugly mug. ;)

(Just kidding of course, I'm ridiculously handsome. For real. Oh, wait. I just had a little tequila...oh well, handsome while it lasts.) :11a:

OK, after a lot of lagging, the book is going out tomorrow. For real. Here's your pic Mark.

You're on it brother.

I got the book from Lockjaw last Saturday night. Well, it came during the day but I was out until night, camping in snow caves, racing dogsleds, the typical Idaho winter weekend. (no I don't own my own sled and team but I do own a snow cave, or at least I will until it melts in the spring) I finished reading it for the first time on Monday and will have the second reading done by this weekend and be ready to send it on. The author has a definite bias towards small bikes but makes no attempt to hide it so it's all good. Wish it had been geared more towards midsized bikes but there is still a lot of good info in it which is why I'm reading it a second time.

It started out as one of those innocent, almost meaningless chats between my wife and I. She was getting ready for work and I was planning my day off. A few chores around the house and maybe a ride to somewhere close. Then she said it: "Don't you have to mail off that book?" Oi Vey!!! It has sat on a shelf for weeks, unsent, unloved and unnoticed. NoBull, I am truely sorry. All those waiting after NOBull, I apologise to you also. I sent it this morning right after the post office opened. I have several excuses but no real reasons. Sorry guys, I ooopsed.
